Radiology Technical Coordinator - Mammography (Full-Time, 8-Hour Day Shifts)

Responsibilities
Arranges on-going training for staff relative to CR and DR (Direct Radiography)
Compiles statistical and QA data as needed. Works with CR vendors and radiologist to set imaging parameter and protocols
Notifies appropriate personnel of supply requirements; makes recommendations concerning the purchase, maintenance and/or repair of equipment
Participates in orientation and training of assigned staff, students, residents and faculty
Prepares and coordinates work schedules (including on-call, holiday sign-up and vacation sign-up). Previews timecards for accuracy
Prepares contrast media and recognizes and responds to allergic reactions to contrast media
Prepares patient for exam, i.e. identifying oneself, explaining procedures, confirming patient ID and checking correctness of the order
Prepares room and equipment. Troubleshoots equipment failures and reports problems to the appropriate individual
Produces quality images following established departmental and QA (Quality Assurance) protocols to include technique, views, position, proper labeling and patient ID (Identification)
Reports problems concerning staffing requirements, work methods, staff morale etc., and recommend solutions as appropriate to supervisor
Qualification
Required
License/Certification Requirement
Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
Ability to apply judgment and make informed decisions
Ability to manage workflow and/or unit productivity
Ability to perform general and specialized radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures which meet the departments standard of quality
Ability to plan, organize, develop tactical plans and set priorities
Ability to solve problems and identify solutions
Ability to speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job
Ability to work effectively as a team player
Knowledge of billing process
Knowledge of Imaging processes and fluoroscopic techniques, methods and equipment
Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility
Knowledge of radiation production, positioning and radiation safety
CRT
BLS - Basic Life Support
ARRT-RTR - Reg Tech-Radiography ARRT
