Responsibilities
Facilitating 1-hour outdoor life-skills workshops (public speaking, concentration, leadership, collaboration) using nature-based challenges and adventure-style programming
Delivering focused, high-energy motivation sessions where you guide students toward academic milestones using adaptive learning software
Activating curriculum through storytelling, personalization, and dynamic instruction that sustains high engagement across K-12 age groups
Implementing safety procedures and field judgment (route selection, weather assessment, equipment checks, Leave No Trace principles) according to Waypoint's operational standards
Evaluating skill acquisition by having students demonstrate practical application of life skills in authentic scenarios
Maintaining rigorous standards of excellence while serving as an approachable, motivating mentor students genuinely respect and admire
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in any discipline
At least 3 years of hands-on experience with K-12 students in educational settings, camp environments, coaching roles, or outdoor programs
Documented history of exceptional achievement (academic, athletic, or professional)
Strong public speaking ability with the capacity to captivate and maintain attention for large student audiences, both indoors and outdoors
Genuine aptitude for connecting with K-12 learners, understanding their interests and culture, positioning yourself as an inspiring role model who challenges them to excel rather than simply befriending them
Authorization to work legally in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
Availability to work on-site at Waypoint Academy's campus in Dripping Springs, TX (near Austin)
Preferred
