Responsibilities
Conduct routine and non-routine quality testing on in-process materials, finished products, ingredients, and manufacturing supplies
Perform special testing and quality-related projects as needed
Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and complete minor repairs on laboratory equipment while adhering to Good Laboratory Practices
Analyze test results, verify accuracy, and communicate findings to production and supervisory teams
Identify out-of-spec conditions, recommend corrective actions, and collaborate with production on issue resolution
Accurately enter and maintain test data, deviation reports, and monthly summaries in computerized systems
Monitor laboratory inventory, initiate orders, and coordinate timely replacement or repair of supplies and equipment
Support food safety, GMP, and plant quality programs, including audits and operator quality performance reviews
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment
Follow all safety, security, and food safety protocols
Demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, effective problem-solving, and strong communication skills
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
1-5 years of experience in a food or manufacturing laboratory environment
Formal training in laboratory procedures or equivalent hands-on experience
Strong working knowledge of laboratory equipment and production processes
Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office; experience with SAP or similar systems preferred
Ability to work rotating shifts as required
Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion
Comfortable working around moving mechanical equipment
Preferred
Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office; experience with SAP or similar systems preferred
SQF and/or PCQI certifications preferred
