Responsibilities
Conduct mechanical testing of mechanically advantaged thin glass to characterize strength distributions
Lead workstreams to understand & quantify stresses
Develop novel techniques to test thin glasses using strength & stress principles
Identify & correct failure modes to improve product reliability
Analyze data & make recommendations to improve product & process reliability
Utilize modeling tools to build models, experimentally validate & extend to predict performance
Perform data analysis at the raw data/root level
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, or closely related
Prior experience with or academic exposure to applying mechanical engineering principles to solve materials science problems
Prior experience with or academic exposure to designing & running statistical based experiments
Prior experience with or academic exposure to identifying root causes of materials failures
