SQL Data Analyst

The SQL Data Analyst will partner with various teams to create reliable analytics, support reporting needs, and enhance data-driven decision-making processes.

Responsibilities
Serve as an intake point for ad-hoc report requests; clarify requirements, scope, timelines, and acceptance criteria with requestors
Partner with business process stakeholders to translate workflow and decision needs into analytic questions, measures, and deliverables (reports, extracts, dashboards, visuals)
Provide iterative prototypes and manage testing/UAT through final approval, document assumptions, logic, and definitions
Design, build, and enhance Power BI dashboards that support trends, comparisons, benchmarking, and operational performance monitoring
Develop and maintain semantic models/datasets (where applicable), measures, and standardized KPIs aligned to enterprise definitions
Optimize dashboards for usability, performance, and executive-ready presentation; ensure refresh reliability and consistent formatting standards
Extract and integrate data from Epic, Oracle, and other operational systems by applying complex rules, joins, and calculations to interface data from multiple sources; build and maintain repeatable logic
Perform data quality checks, reconcile results to source-of-truth references, and validate outputs prior to release
Ensure appropriate handling of confidential data and compliance with organizational policy and applicable regulations
Maintain and run recurring data workflows including compensation calculations and supporting datasets (as assigned)
Identify trends, correlations, and exceptions in complex datasets; summarize implications and recommend actions
Proactively investigate historical performance and market/benchmark signals to identify improvement opportunities
Prepare pro formas and forecasting support using historical, comparative, and modeled assumptions (as requested)
Provide individual and group training on Microsoft Excel, Power BI consumption, and approved Epic reporting tools
Contribute to data literacy programming (job aids, office hours, learning sessions, documentation, and adoption support)
Serve as the reporting/data subject-matter resource on cross-department implementations and enterprise initiatives (data governance, Epic data, BI standards)
Provide required data elements for audits and government-mandated reporting; support external vendor/conglomerate data requests when authorized
Manage multiple projects and priorities, communicating status, risks, and dependencies clearly and consistently
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Data, Statistics, Accounting, Business, Finance, Healthcare Management, Healthcare Informatics or related degree
Minimum of two years in data-oriented role and/or previous healthcare experience
Strong analytical judgment
Attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel
Proficiency in Dax and SQL coding, data modeling concepts and data automation strategies
Proficiency in EPIC Clarity, Caboodle, Cogito
Ability to adopt additional technologies as required by team's strategic plan
