Responsibilities
Provides direction, sets priorities and oversees the day to day operation of the Payroll team
Prepares, reviews, and analyzes payroll and other related financial reporting. Works closely with internal business partners in providing key financial data as needed
Manages in-house processing and disbursement of multi-state payroll including garnishments, taxes, ACH file, 401(k) file and general ledger consistent with federal, state and local tax laws. Reviews reconciliation of payroll general ledger accounts monthly, federal, state and local tax returns quarterly and annually and directs the balancing and processing of W-2s annually
Assists in the preparation and administration of the Payroll portion of the HR annual budget
Ensures the processing of new hires, temporary hires, transfers, promotions and terminations are processed accurately and timely
Directs the preparation and filing of required reports and payments to government agencies and other organizations. Reviews and updates Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) 404 documentation for Payroll and performs annual SOX testing. Oversees the preparation of the annual Report of Organization
Performs other related duties and projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
BA or BS
7 years of job-related experience
Excellent management skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
Excellent project management skills
Ability to use a personal computer and job-related software
MS Word - Intermediate Level
MS Excel - Expert Level
MS PowerPoint - Basic Level
Advanced level of accounting skills and working knowledge of general ledger transactions, HR processes and data including payroll, eligibility and enrollment rules and benefit procedures
