Payroll Specialist
Intermountain Home Services is hiring a Payroll Specialist to process payroll processing and compliance for a growing workforce across multiple brands and locations. In this role, you'll be responsible for end-to-end payroll operations, employee pay support, audits, and system integrity.
Responsibilities
Execute and ensure accurate weekly payroll processing for hourly, salaried, and commissioned employees across multiple entities in the home services and skilled trade industry
Maintain employee payroll records, direct deposit setup, tax withholdings, and garnishments
Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
Partner with HR to support onboarding, offboarding, and employee changes in payroll systems
Collaborate with accounting on payroll journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Provide timely and accurate payroll reports to finance and leadership as needed
Lead responses to audits, including workers’ comp, 401(k), and tax filings
Administer payroll taxes, filings, and year-end reporting (W-2s, 1099s, etc.)
Partner with Human Resources and HRIS administrators to improve workflows, integrations, and data accuracy
Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and urgency
Qualification
Required
2-5 years of payroll processing experience, including multi-state and hourly/salaried/commissioned workforce
Strong knowledge of wage and hour laws, payroll taxes, payroll reporting, and compliance reporting
Experience with payroll audits, garnishments, and system administration
High attention to detail, discretion, and organizational skills
Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; accounting or HRIS software experience
Must pass background check and drug screening
Preferred
Experience with at least one of the following platforms highly preferred: UKG Ready, Paylocity, Paychex, or Inova. Paylocity is preferred
Experience with Service Titan or similar CRMs is a plus
Familiarity with Sage Intacct a plus
