Assistant Director - Community Living Program

Responsibilities
Responsible for the supervision of the Community Living Program’s QIDP Program Managers by either direct or indirect means. Carries out supervisory/leadership responsibilities in accordance with the agency's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: scheduling, interviewing, hiring, training, and coaching Team Leaders and direct support staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Creates an environment that inspires and motivates the team while providing learning and development opportunities to achieve individual, departmental and organizational goals
Establishes constructive working relationships with the participants and their support network in order to ensure the needs and desires of the participants are being met
Provides leadership and direction for the daily operations of the program’s service site(s); ensuring the program’s services and location meet regulatory requirements, standards and rules as well as those set by Community Link’ policies and procedures
Collaborates with the agency’s nursing department, and other team members, to improve services for the participants, and to promote continuity across all environments
Supports the team with clinical and emergency issues on a 24-hour basis as needed
Covers shifts when necessary to ensure continuity of care
Ensures resident medication needs are met by administering, monitoring and documenting medication regimen. Brings any health issues to the supervisor’s attention
Maintains liaisons with external agencies and contractual staff
Qualification
Required
Minimum Associate degree with Bachelor's degree preferred in management or human services field
Minimum of 2 years of applied managerial/supervisory experience in the developmental disabilities field
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, participants, customers, and the general public
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Must have a valid driver's license and must provide proof of insurance with a minimal of 100,000/300,000 liability coverage
Effective and efficient communication skills
An ability to adapt favorably to changing program needs
Competent knowledge of behavior principles
Basic computer operations for participant data tracking, incident reporting and other processes deemed necessary by the supervisory staff
Ability to be on call 24-hours to assist with issues that may arise
