Production Manager

Responsibilities
Ensure all safety requirements are met and are being followed according to rules and regulations
Sets and communicates goals to meet company’s overall plan
Work with all departments to ensure sales targets are being met
Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations by increasing production output, product quality and on-time shipping
Increase production, asset capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
Reviews production costs and product quality and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division
Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards
Resolve worker grievances or submit unsettled grievances to Chief Operating Officer for action
Coordinates production, distribution, warehousing, and sales in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by Chief Operating Officer
Directly supervise production staff, including hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, performance management, and employee development
Lead daily production meetings to communicate priorities, safety expectations, and performance metrics
Ensure staffing levels align with production demands and adjust resources as needed
Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards consistently
Coach and mentor supervisors and team leads to drive accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
Partner with HR and leadership on employee relations matters, corrective actions, and workforce planning
Qualification
Required
7+ years of experience in a supervisory or people management role
Working knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and manufacturing processes
Experience driving safety, quality, delivery, and productivity metrics
Strong communication skills and the ability to lead teams in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with standard manufacturing systems (ERP/MRP, Microsoft Office, or similar tools)
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university and seven to ten years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, physical, and controlled substance testing
Frequent standing and walking on the production floor for extended periods
Regular bending, stooping, reaching, and occasional kneeling or crouching
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
Visual ability to inspect parts and processes for quality and compliance
Ability to communicate effectively in a high-noise industrial environment
Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses
Exposure to moving machinery, industrial equipment, and varying temperatures
Preferred
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
Familiarity with regulated or high-compliance environments (ISO, AS, or similar quality systems)
Proven experience managing multiple production lines, shifts, or departments
Strong background in labor planning, cost control, and operational efficiency improvements
Experience leading change initiatives and scaling teams or processes
