Engineering Manager

Black Desert Resort is seeking a visionary Engineering Manager to join their leadership team at The Lodge at Kukui’ula. The Engineering Manager will oversee the maintenance and repair of owner units and shared spaces, ensuring exceptional standards and guest satisfaction while maximizing the resort's profits.

Responsibilities

Oversees the maintenance and repair of owner units, shared spaces, and main systems such as water, air conditioning, and electricity
Ensures guests and homeowners are happy and safe by promptly and politely handling maintenance requests and routine upkeep
Keeping all units and public areas in good shape and looking nice
Helps the resort maximize profits by using equipment, tools, and supplies efficiently
Managing budgets, reviewing department profits and losses, making long-term plans, and helping make decisions
Reading and understanding building plans and instructions
Understanding building security and locks
Managing recreation areas
Handling pest control (e.g., insects, rodents, and cats)
Keeping things clean and sanitary
Following safety rules, using lockout/tagout procedures, reading safety data sheets, using safety gear, and participating in safety training

Required

You need at least a two-year college degree or something similar for this job
You should have at least five years of experience as an Engineering Manager in a large, high-quality hotel, or at least one year as an Assistant Engineer Manager in a similar hotel
You should know about important hotel trades such as carpentry, cabinetmaking, furniture repair, upholstery, plumbing, pipefitting, electrical work, masonry, and similar skills
You need to be able to read and understand building plans and instructions, understand building security and locks, manage recreation areas, handle pest control (e.g., insects, rodents, and cats), and keep things clean and sanitary
You should have experience following safety rules, using lockout/tagout procedures, reading safety data sheets, using safety gear, and participating in safety training
A valid Hawaii State driver's license and acceptable driving record are required

Preferred

It is preferred that you have at least one year of experience in the hospitality industry, either as a supervisor or as part of a technical engineering team
