Strategic Sourcing Associate - 1st Shift

Dayton-Phoenix Group, Inc. is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Associate responsible for sourcing materials, equipment, and services in a cost-effective manner. Responsibilities

Research company needs and identify the best contracted supplier to provide products and/ or services
Facilitate Request for Quote (RFQ) activities for new and existing products and/ or services
Assist with the monitoring of contractual relationships to ensure that DPG receives the highest quality of products and contracted services
Establish and maintain partnerships with internal customers and suppliers
Ensure new suppliers follow the approval process per company policy
Analyze supplier contracts/NDA’s and recommend appropriate changes
Monitor active supplier contracts/NDA’s expiring term and assist with renewals
Identify potential suppliers through market research and evaluation, considering factors such as cost, quality, reliability, and delivery capabilities
Conduct negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and contracts while ensuring alignment with organizational goals
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers
Analyze supplier proposals, pricing structures, and total cost of ownership to make informed sourcing decisions that optimize cost efficiency
Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies to make informed sourcing recommendations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with organizational objectives
Work with suppliers and DPG Quality team to ensure products or services meet established quality standards and specifications
Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop risk mitigation plans to ensure continuity of supply
Continuously seek opportunities to reduce costs and lead times through negotiation, process improvement, and supplier optimization
Coordinate supplier selection related to new product introductions in collaboration with Engineering team
Develop, track and report agreed upon KPIs
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager

Required

ERP system experience required and strong computer skills to include Excel, Word and Power Point
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, complete tasks, and function well in a fast-paced environment
Diligent attention to detail
Ability to analyze information, problem solve, and evaluate results to choose the best solution
Able to function well as part of a team
Able to work independently and efficiently
Strong Continuous Improvement and customer focus
Familiar with ISO Requirements
Strong ethics and integrity in internal and supplier relationships
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, supply chain management, inventory control and other techniques
Moderate Travel Required – Overnight stays may be necessary for trips exceeding a 150-mile radius. Most travel requirements are highly flexible. Most suppliers are within a 300-mile radius of Dayton
High school diploma or GED required
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent job experience
Experience sourcing or purchasing for a manufacturing environment highly preferred
Working knowledge of the application of strategic sourcing principles including spend analysis, concept and strategy development, market analysis and research, requirements definition, Statement of Work (SOW) development, Request for Quote (RFQ) development and management, vendor negotiations, contract assessment, vendor onboarding and management, and data management
