Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for all Environmental Qualification Testing at the Wilsonville site
Plan, execute, and document Environmental Qualification Testing in compliance with DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, systems engineering, and program management, to define test requirements and resolve non-compliance issues
Develop test procedures, analyze test data, and prepare reports to demonstrate compliance with customer and regulatory requirements
Oversee test setups, including vibration, temperature, humidity, shock, altitude and other environmental testing
Work autonomously under the direction of team leaders, program management, and engineering management
Lead test failure investigations, spearhead root cause analysis and drive corrective actions
Mentor other engineers in best practices for environmental qualification testing
Support design reviews and provide input on environmental requirements for new product designs
Interface with customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies as needed to ensure successful test results and compliance
Maintain expertise in environmental testing standards and emerging industry trends

Required

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
Experience in Environmental Qualification Testing (aerospace, defense, automotive or other industries with high-reliability products) in accordance with industry standards
Proficiency in environmental testing methods, data analysis techniques and technical report writing
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred

Familiarity with standards like MIL-HDBK-454 to enhance product reliability and compliance
Hands-on experience with test lab equipment (e.g., vibration test systems, thermal chambers)
Experience in mechanical engineering design and development
Experience with structural and thermal management design
