Responsibilities
Operate diagnostic equipment and perform a variety of technical diagnostic imaging procedures related to computed tomography
Provide critical patient orientation, procedure explanation, and essential pre and post-diagnostic care to ensure the successful completion of tests
Perform CT exams on patients according to specific departmental procedure protocols under the Medical Director's direction, ensuring all equipment is operational, safe, and functioning correctly
Facilitate patient understanding by reviewing physician orders, communicating with radiologists for proper exam protocols, and providing detailed diagnostic test information
Independently perform complete diagnostic imaging tests, including patient positioning, equipment calibration, and documentation of findings under supervision
Demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety, adherence to protocols, and effective communication with both patients and clinical staff
Act as a role model for the Hospital's Patient Satisfaction effort, demonstrating AIDET principles when interacting with customers, subordinates, and colleagues
Assure safe equipment operation before attempting any radiology procedure, troubleshoot equipment, report all equipment downtime and malfunctions to the shift supervisor, and cooperate with service personnel for repair
Protect patient and self from injury during patient transportation and during the procedure by placing patient in proper body alignment, keeping side rails high, and using proper body mechanics during work
Demonstrate good customer service skills by greeting the patient, introducing oneself, explaining the procedure, and following up on all reasonable customer requests, practicing age-specific sensitivities
Interview the patient for pertinent medical history, assess the patient's learning abilities, review patient chart or physician order, and obtain consents prior to performing imaging procedures as required
Transfer patients to the radiology table or transportation device utilizing proper body mechanics, appropriate equipment, and safe patient handling methods in accordance with age-specific sensitivities
Qualification
Required
Graduate of school of Radiologic Technology
One year experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital setting or one year experience as a CT Technologist
Medical Radiographer: CA
Basic Life Support - CPR
Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT
Preferred
One year experience as a CT Technologist in a hospital setting
Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech: CA
