Manufacturing Systems Engineer II

As a Manufacturing Systems Engineer, you will design, install, monitor, and develop manufacturing systems that support medical device manufacturing, while leading teams and ensuring efficiency in the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities
Work closely with the Operations leadership to lead or execute transformation efficiencies and add new capabilities within our manufacturing systems environment
Provide technical leadership for the selection, design, prototyping, testing, and implementation of improvements to our workflow systems across our manufacturing facilities
Coordinate with or lead cross-functional teams to collect requirements and plan implementations
Create technical artifacts for internal and vendor business partner review (i.e. workflows, business requirements, functional specifications, use cases)
Lead requirement sessions with project teams, vendor business partners, developers, and others
Drive assessment and validation processes to ensure there are no gaps in requirements and development deliverables
Attending production meetings and forecasting production requirements
Overseeing effective use of resources, e.g. raw materials, equipment, and staff
Discussing and evaluating systems failures with operations managers and non-technical personnel
Demonstrating new and existing equipment to manufacturing engineers, production support staff and production managers
Meeting with managers to discuss methods of improving the productivity of existing systems, taking into consideration the use of the latest technology
Sourcing new suppliers for manufacturing systems and/or equipment to support the manufacturing systems
Testing, monitoring, and evaluating new processes either systems and/or equipment
Establishing and implementing the Forj Medical quality culture within the manufacturing environment
Identify and benchmark against other production sites
Mentor and train other engineers, production coordinators, etc in the in the production environment to become efficient and effective at their responsibilities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering, technical or scientific discipline
3 to 6 years engineering experience in an electronic-based manufacturing environment. Medical device preferred
Work experience in technology systems implementation in a manufacturing environment
Experience in gathering technical requirements
Mastery of creating various process artifacts – process maps, business requirement documents, and gap analysis documents
Customer service orientation with strong interpersonal skills including influencing and collaboration skills
Able to work independently and to prioritize multiple competing assignments appropriately to meet deadlines while adjusting to a rapidly changing environment
Ability to use critical judgement to operate effectively under conditions of moderate ambiguity
Inherent ability to organize tasks and issues by order of importance
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Willingness and capability to learn quickly, especially in regard to new technologies required for accomplishing transformation initiative goals
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office product suite (Teams, Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
