Analyst/Accountant - Commercial (Southern Natural Gas)
Kinder Morgan is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America. The Analyst/Accountant position involves performing various customer-related activities for the South Region Pipelines, including invoice preparation, customer training, and resolving invoicing inquiries.

Responsibilities
Preparation and evaluation of monthly invoices in compliance with Tariffs and SOx controls
Training internal/external customers about details on services offered, information and reports available
Responding to and resolving invoicing inquiries and issues
Review and reporting of Account Receivables
Support existing and identify new business solutions
Ensure customer invoices are processed accurately and timely in compliance with all South Region’s Pipeline tariffs
Provide timely and accurate responses to both internal and external customer questions and/or issues related to invoicing
Training of internal/external customers regarding transportation service details, information available to customers, and use of pipeline proprietary transportation systems
Monitoring transportation contract imbalances and assisting customers with the resolution of those imbalances
Monitoring Operational Flow Orders and reporting on customer impact
Support of revenue and allocation processes within proprietary transportation system (DART)
Responsible for compliance with all internal SOX controls, including documentation of process flows, identification of risks, implementations of controls mitigating such risk, and evidence of process compliance as it relates to invoicing
Assist Commercial and Financial Planning teams with monitoring revenue and customer activities
Generate revenue reports and other reports as needed and be able to track performance during the course of the year
Fosters strong relationships with all levels of Management, Marketing, Asset Optimization, Measurement, Rates, Regulatory Affairs, Transportation and Storage Services, Legal, Contract Services, Financial Planning, and Accounting
Regular interaction with Financial Planning and Accounting groups regarding forecasting, revenue reporting and revenue variance explanation
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Marketing or closely related discipline
Highly motivated individual with the initiative and ability to work through complex issues
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Strong computer skills with the ability to learn proprietary computer systems
Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, primarily Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access
Must be detail oriented, yet able to illuminate the larger picture
Resourceful with an ability to gather, synthesize and disseminate information
Ability to manage stressful situations with critical deadlines
Preferred
General understanding of Kinder Morgan, interstate pipeline commercial business from deal execution, contract administration, scheduling, allocation, rates, and invoicing
Knowledge of existing Kinder Morgan proprietary transportation systems (DART), Rates and Invoice processes
Knowledge of South Region interstate natural gas transportation
3-5 years interstate natural gas pipeline industry experience
Experience utilizing Microsoft Access in support of complex business solutions
Position level to be commensurate with experience
