TPWD - Intern I - II - III (SP Emergency Management Intern - Austin)
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is dedicated to managing and conserving Texas's natural and cultural resources while providing outdoor recreation opportunities. They are seeking an Emergency Management Intern to assist the State Parks Emergency Management Specialist with day-to-day operations and special projects, including writing emergency operational procedures and participating in training exercises.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Writing or reviewing emergency operational procedures, participate in emergency Management training and table top exercises, assist State Park Emergency Management Specialist in day to day operations
Ensures compliance with State and Federal laws and regulations, and agency policies and procedures
Performs additional duties as assigned
Complies with Agency, Division and Department rules, regulations, and procedures
Qualification
Required
Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited college or university or recent graduate with a bachelor's degree or higher within the last 6 months
Minimum of 18 completed semester credit hours from an accredited college or university at time of application
Must have an overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 grade point scale or 'Pass' on a Pass/Fail system
Must possess a valid state driver's license
Knowledge of Texas State Parks
Skill in effective verbal and written communication
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with peers or leaders while working on projects or assignments
Skill in managing several projects simultaneously
Skill in using MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Skill in exercising leadership qualities
