Minnesota Rural Electric Association is looking for seasonal Apprentice Lineman to assist line crews while gaining experience in the construction and maintenance of electrical distribution systems. The role involves building and maintaining overhead and underground electrical systems, ensuring safety and reliability, and restoring power as needed.

Responsibilities

Build overhead electrical distribution systems within the appropriate specifications, guidelines and standards
Build underground electrical distribution systems within the appropriate specifications, guidelines and standards
Maintain the electrical distribution system to ensure its safety and reliability while minimizing any disruption of service
Restore power in a safe and timely manner

Qualification

Required

High school or GED diploma AND Electrical Lineworker Diploma
Successfully completed energized line work training in an accredited program
Current and valid Class A Driver's License
Valid DOT health card
First Aid and CPR Certified
Bucket and pole top rescue certified within the standards accepted by Connexus Energy
Mechanical aptitude to operate various machines and equipment such as bucket truck, digger truck, cable plow and backhoe
Ability to read and understand written work documents such as charts, diagrams, schematics and staking sheets
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with crew members, Connexus Energy employees, other utilities, customers and governmental officials
Ability to work well as part of a team
Ability to work overtime and various work shifts

Preferred

Excellent driving record to ensure company vehicle is driven in a safe and professional manner
Understanding of excellent customer service and presenting a positive image
