Program Service Director - Eagle Mt. Assisted Living
White River Area Agency on Aging is seeking a Program Service Director for the Eagle Mountain Assisted Living Management Team. This role is responsible for creating resident-focused activities and managing daily scheduling of events to enhance the social engagement of residents.

Responsibilities
Plan, schedules and implement the Daily Activities Program, for a seven day week, using creativity and available resources
Develop and post calendar of events for the community each month
Organize and/or conduct shopping trips, craft activities and various presentations
Drive residents to and from scheduled trips and events using the community vehicles when necessary
Arrange for resident parties and entertainment presented by outside groups and act as a liaison with local senior centers
Promote participation and resident interaction
Arrange for religious observances and in-house weekly services
Prepare and distribute newsletter and input from community groups, residents, employees and guests
Assists in orientating new residents to the community by introducing them to residents and staff members and showing them around the community
Work with social media to develop community outreach programs for resident involvement such as Facebook
Responsible for planning events and decorations for events
Interview all new residents to access their preferences for community activities and outside interests
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Must work one weekend day and one evening per month
Qualification
Required
Professional experience in senior resident services, social work or health care preferred
Strong organizational and analytical skills as well as oral and written communication skills
Experience as a Social or Activities Director is desired
As required by state law, a valid driver's license
Ability to plan, organize and communicate appropriate activities that promote participation and enthusiasm in the residents
Meet with residents on a regular basis to encourage communication and offer support
Conduct quarterly resident council meetings and coordinate and lead quarterly family nights and events
Coordinate and provide transportation for residents as needed. Take residents on outings and day trips as well as local shopping trips
Conduct individual and group social programs focusing on the five domains (physical, emotional, spiritual, social and intellectual)
Prepare, implement and distribute monthly calendar of events focusing on residents' interests and the five domains
Prepare a monthly newsletter to family members to aid them in an awareness of activities and events that are available to residents and family members
Must enjoy working with the seniors and able to accept constructive criticism
Ability to interact with residents who are highly susceptible to common illness without posing additional health risks
Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks/responsibilities and complete duties/projects within the time allotted
Ability to define and solve problems, including the ability to collect and interpret data from a variety of sources
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
Must be able to express yourself adequately in writing or orally with residents, family members, staff, visitors and volunteers
Develop a volunteer program where volunteers will come into the community and assist or lead activities
Must be able to track recreation program budget and be able to stay within the monthly/yearly budget
Assist the Administrator and Resident Service Director with paperwork and report submission
Conduct community orientation with new residents which includes introducing new resident to current residents and staff, assigning a buddy for new resident, and answering questions about the community to the new resident
Complete and distribute birthday cards to residents and associates
Provide information about the resident when the Administrator is not available
Must be able to use standard office equipment which includes, but not limited to, personal computer, copier, fax, and be able to operate an automobile and van

Freedom from use and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace
Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting, or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment in this position
Demonstrates effective time management skills
Prepare and carry out special projects as assigned
Ability to assist residents on and off a bus, van or car, and required to move or arrange furniture for activities and/or climb, stoop, bend, kneel, push and reach to carry out any activity. Must be about to lift 50 or more pounds
Sufficient mobility and strength to move freely through the community and to assist, while involved in activities or transportation
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and peripheral vision
Ability to remain calm under stress
Able to carry out essential functions of this job (with or without reasonable accommodations) without posing specific, current risk of substantial harm to health and safety of self and others
The position is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions. Activities occur both inside and outside and both day and evening
Exposure to large groups in room with activities that may have a moderate noise level
Valid driver's license
Knowledge of social media interaction
Over 21 years of age
Able to independently work with a computer and apps such as Microsoft Word and standard office equipment which includes, but not limited to, personal computer, copier, fax, and be able to operate an automobile and van
