They are seeking a summer intern to develop and optimize an agentic system for processing large datasets, collaborating with software and experimental teams to prototype and evaluate the system.

Responsibilities
Design, implement and test an agentic system that can process large volumes of unstructured data, and integrate with external APIs and tools
Develop metrics and tools to monitor and evaluate agent performance
Collaborate with internal customers to iterate on agentic capabilities
Deliver high-quality code and actively participate in testing and validation
Keep accurate and timely records of design decisions, dependencies, findings and progress
Present work to the team at the end of the internship
Qualification
Required
Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student)
Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student)
Must have attained a PhD
Must have attained a Master's Degree
Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related scientific discipline
Solid knowledge of machine learning and deep learning fundamentals
Highly skilled in Python
Hands-on experience with AI/ML libraries (e.g., LangChain, OpenAI API, Hugging Face, PyTorch)
Excellent problem-solving abilities -- able to articulate a problem statement when processes may be complex and/or ambiguous
Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills
The ability to work independently and proactively with minimal guidance
Preferred
Understanding of agent-based modeling, LLMs, RAG, vector databases, prompt engineering
Familiarity with using cloud and HPC infrastructure would be helpful
Experience building applications with LLMs or generative AI models
Familiarity with API development, backend services, and deployment pipelines
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
