TPWD - Intern I - II - III (Conservation Education Intern - Austin)

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is dedicated to managing and conserving Texas's natural and cultural resources. They are seeking a Conservation Education Intern to provide hands-on experience in aquatic education, assist with resource organization, and perform data entry.
Government Administration

Responsibilities

Assist with updating and producing Conservation Education and Nature Tourism materials
Assist with compiling and analyzing Texas Waters volunteer opportunities
Assist with preparation and delivery of Texas Aquatic Science activities and textbook grant
Job shadow and site visits
Performs additional duties as assigned
Complies with Agency, Division and Department rules, regulations, and procedures

Required

Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited college or university or recent graduate with a bachelor's degree or higher within the last 6 months
Minimum of 18 completed semester credit hours from an accredited college or university at time of application
Must have an overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 grade point scale or 'Pass' on a Pass/Fail system
Applicant must possess a valid State driver's license

Preferred

Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in science, education, or related field with 90 completed semester credit hours from an accredited college or university
Experience (volunteer or paid work) working with youth or coordinating group activities
Interest in teaching K-12 education, environmental education, environmental sciences, or water resources
