Responsibilities
Takes appropriate actions on nonconforming product and customer complaints
Determine and track departmental goals
Performs or arranges for the performance of internal audits of the quality management system at prescribed intervals
Ownership of the Quality Management System and maintains compliance with ISO9001 standards
Performs root cause analysis of nonconforming products and conducts studies to implement improvements in products
Creation of documentation of quality processes, procedures, and work instructions
Maintains equipment calibration and supporting record keeping to ensure equipment is calibrated in accordance with appropriate schedules
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and supply chain, to identify and resolve quality issues in a timely manner
Assists the Quality Manager with the transition from an inspection-based Quality Control department to an audit-based Quality Assurance department through elimination of unnecessary inspections, coordination with operations on driving down defects, mistake proofing, and implementing process controls and process audits
Ownership and improvement of the internal and external Non-Conformance Reporting systems
Qualification
Required
1-3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or similar setting
Experience with leading and implementing 5S initiatives
Experience with RCA Tools (8D, 5Why, CAPA, fishbone) and facilitation and training of using tools
Experience with ISO9001 and Quality Management Systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a process and results oriented mindset
Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering field
Preferred
Certification as a CQE or Lean Six Sigma Green/ Black belt is a plus but not required
