Responsibilities

Develop, simulate, and verify VHDL designs targeting AMD FPGA platforms
Collaborate on the development and optimization of FPGA-based systems for aerospace and defense applications
Integrate machine learning principles into hardware design workflows to enhance system performance
Assist in the implementation and validation of hardware/software co-design projects
Document design processes, results, and technical findings to share with internal teams
Support troubleshooting, debugging, and testing of FPGA systems
Participate in cross-functional team meetings and contribute innovative ideas to solve engineering challenges

Required

This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their (Sophomore year) by the start of summer 2026
Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Coursework or experience in VHDL coding, FPGA design, and simulation

Preferred

Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
Familiarity with hardware acceleration for machine learning algorithms
Knowledge of aerospace and defense systems is a plus
Familiarity with AMD FPGA platforms and tools (e.g., Vivado, ModelSim, etc.)
Understanding of machine learning concepts and their practical applications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
