Quantum Computing Research Scientist – Computational Methods - Senior Associate

Responsibilities
Develop numerical methods for exact and approximate simulation of quantum circuits and dynamics of quantum systems
Scale up numerical methods on HPC clusters and supercomputers
Perform large-scale simulations and document the results in scientific papers
Implement, maintain, and manage a codebase of quantum simulation techniques
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. degree in computer science, physics, math, engineering or related fields, or equivalent experience
Experience in using GPUs in numerical simulation of quantum systems
Experience running simulations on many parallel nodes on HPC clusters or supercomputers
Experience in numerical study of quantum algorithms or systems and documenting the results in scientific papers
Preferred
Experience developing a successful research program focused on numerical study of quantum algorithms
Experience with tensor network methods (e.g. MPS, PEPS)
Knowledge of quantum algorithms for financial problems (e.g., optimization, risk analysis)
Knowledge of error correction
