Supplier Quality Engineer - Military Flight Controls Division - Dublin, GA

Responsibilities
Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, reliability and accuracy of products and processes of suppliers
Ensures that project and/or process control documentation is compliant with requirements and/or contracts
Coordinates with customers and suppliers relating to quality performance, trends, and corrective action. Verifies compliance and effectiveness of the quality system by performing supplier audits and surveys. Initiate programs to improve supplier performance
Lead supplier development activities geared towards increased implementation of Dock-to-Stock and replenishment programs
Works with suppliers to refine and enhance products and processes by applying continuous improvement and key lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques to assure quality of goods and services provided
Will be responsible for ensuring that nonconforming material is dispositioned in a timely manner, in addition to analyzing defect trends in order to initiate appropriate corrective action
Responsible for the specification and validation of inspection tools and gages for suppliers
Integral participant in all design reviews; reviews and approves all Supplier Quality Requirement Plans (SQR’s) and develops follow-up plans after implementation
Will perform Quality Systems and Process Audits of current suppliers including reporting, follow-up and closure of non-conformances
Handle process improvements at supplier facilities
Qualification
Required
BS degree in Engineering field or related technical discipline required
Knowledge of and experience with precision machining
A thorough understanding of use and application of statistical quality assurance methods is required
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, top management and suppliers
Ability to effectively apply continuous improvement principles and techniques to quality and manufacturing functions
Ability to use standard business software applications and/or specialized data analysis tools
Preferred
ASQ certification as Quality Engineer preferred
