Responsibilities

Define the North Star: Own and articulate a multi-year, multi-cloud (AWS & Azure) DevOps and Platform Engineering strategy that directly supports the company's aggressive growth targets and product roadmap
Outcome-Driven Execution: Establish clear, measurable, and ambitious SLOs and OKRs for the DevOps function, ensuring every platform investment directly contributes to business outcomes (e.g., increased deployment frequency, reduced MTTR, improved developer satisfaction)
Executive Partnership: Serve as the authority on cloud and reliability matters, partnering with the CIO, CTO, and Product Leadership to balance speed, cost, and risk effectively
Cultural Catalyst: Champion a culture of accountability, blameless post-mortems, and continuous, iterative improvement that prioritizes delivery velocity and resilience
Mandate SRE Practices: Instill and enforce modern Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, leveraging SLIs, SLOs, and Error Budgets to make data-backed trade-offs between feature development and toil reduction
Own the Metrics: Define, manage, and report on mission-critical KPIs, including Deployment Frequency, Lead Time for Changes, MTTR, and operational cost efficiency (FinOps), providing transparent, data-driven reporting to the CIO and Executive team
Incident Command: Lead high-stakes incident response, driving root cause analysis and ensuring the systematic implementation of automated solutions to permanently eliminate recurring failures
Build Elite Teams: Recruit, mentor, and coach a geographically distributed team of DevOps, SRE, and Cloud Engineers, focusing on professional development, psychological safety, and technical specialization
Decentralized Enablement: Drive the creation of self-service tooling, paved roads, and internal developer platforms that empower feature teams to safely and autonomously deploy and manage their own services
Technical Authority: Provide hands-on guidance on architecture reviews, ensuring solutions are robustly scalable and meet our stringent security, availability, and cost requirements
