TPWD - Intern I - II - III (Cultural Resources Program Intern - Waco)
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is dedicated to managing and conserving Texas's natural and cultural resources. They are seeking a Cultural Resources Program Intern to assist with inventory and database creation for state parks records, providing students with relevant work experience in cultural resource management.

Responsibilities
Inventory and digitize recent and historical project records
Assist with data management of collection
Assist with organization of records database
Conduct historical research
Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with Agency, Division and Department rules, regulations, and procedures
Qualification
Required
Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited college or university or recent graduate with a bachelor's degree or higher within the last 6 months
Minimum of 18 completed semester credit hours from an accredited college or university at time of application
Must have an overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 grade point scale or 'Pass' on a Pass/Fail system
Must possess a valid state driver's license
Knowledge of Texas State Parks
Skill in effective verbal and written communication
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with peers or leaders while working on projects or assignments
Skill in managing several projects simultaneously
Skill in using MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Skill in exercising leadership qualities
Skill in civic or community engagement
Skill in meeting deadlines
Ability to work as a member of a team
Ability to prepare reports
Ability to maintain flexibility and work with frequent interruptions and multiple changing priorities
Ability to communicate effectively with the public utilizing written, oral and visual means
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to conduct work activities in accordance with TPWD safety program
Required to work overtime as necessary
Required to work hours other than 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with days off other than Saturdays, Sundays and holidays as necessary
May be required to travel 5% of the time with possible overnight stays
Required to perform manual labor, including lifting supplies and materials up to 25 lbs
Required to conform to TPWD dress and grooming standards, work rules and safety procedures
