Responsibilities

Support recurring people reporting including data preparation, validation, and refresh processes
Partner with HR and business stakeholders across Hearst to understand questions, clarify requirements, and translate needs into effective tools and dashboards
Respond to prioritized stakeholder requests by producing analyses, visuals, and summaries that are accurate, clear, and decision-useful
Use technology—including responsible use of Generative AI tools where appropriate—to reduce manual work, improve consistency, and increase speed while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality
Design and maintain reporting tools that make it easier for teams to uncover trends and insights about the workforce
Contribute to the employee data warehouse by helping create reporting-ready datasets, supporting documentation/definitions, and partnering on data quality checks

Required

Coursework and/or professional experience in analytics, data, or a related field
Strong Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data cleaning, Power Query)
Demonstrated learning mindset – curious, proactive, and eager to build new skills; comfortable experimenting, iterating, and applying new approaches (including Generative AI) to improve how work gets done
Working experience with SQL and/or Python (or similar) for analysis, automation, or data transformation
Experience with a data visualization platform such as Power BI or Tableau (or similar)
Strong attention to detail, data quality mindset, and comfort working with sensitive/confidential data
Clear communication skills and ability to partner with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred

Exposure to HR/people data (e.g., headcount, turnover, talent metrics)
Experience designing reporting tools or dashboards for business stakeholders
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts (data modeling basics, documentation, governance, QA)
