EVONA is a rapidly growing U.S.-based defense and space technology organization seeking a Senior AI Engineer – Agentic Platform Lead to architect and scale a next-generation multi-agent AI platform. This role involves owning the architecture and technical roadmap for a distributed platform that enables AI systems to autonomously design and optimize complex hardware.
Responsibilities
Architecting and leading development of a scalable multi-agent orchestration platform
Designing secure execution environments where agents can run simulations, code, and engineering workflows
Building distributed systems patterns to coordinate agents across full hardware design lifecycles
Implementing memory, context, and provenance systems to ensure traceable and explainable design decisions
Optimizing performance, latency, reliability, and observability across high-concurrency workloads
Leading and mentoring a small team of high-performing engineers
Partnering with propulsion, electronics, and manufacturing teams to translate real workflows into agentic capabilities
Qualification
Required
Master's degree plus 5 years, or PhD plus 3 years, in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field
5+ years building production-grade backend or distributed systems in high-throughput or mission-critical environments
Strong experience with Python, Go, or Rust and modern microservice architectures
Hands-on experience integrating or building LLM-based systems and agent orchestration frameworks
Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and make architectural decisions in fast-paced environments
Clear evidence of an AI-first engineering mindset
Preferred
Experience connecting AI systems to CAD, CAE, or EDA engineering tools
Background in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or computational engineering
Experience with observability stacks and performance optimization in distributed systems
Prior work on safety-critical or mission-critical platforms
Evidence of personal engineering projects or open-source contributions
