Back End Developer
High Trail is a leading organization in the healthcare technology sector, seeking a skilled Back End Software Engineer to join their innovative team. The role involves developing and maintaining scalable, reliable backend systems that support critical healthcare workflows, including integration with electronic health records and real-time data analysis.

Qualification
Required
4+ years of professional software engineering experience (excluding internships)
Proven expertise in matching and scheduling optimization algorithms
Strong problem-solving skills with a math-oriented mindset
Experience working with large, noisy datasets to derive actionable insights
Hands-on backend development in cloud environments, particularly GCP
Familiarity with microservices architectures within monolithic cloud infrastructures
Knowledge of monitoring, reliability, and real-time system observability
Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, C++, Java, or Rust
Strong communication skills to engage effectively with leadership and cross-functional partners
Ability to quickly ramp into new projects and systems
Willingness to collaborate early with engineering leaders, product teams, and client stakeholders
Flexibility to work hybrid schedule: 3 days in the office (Tuesday–Thursday), with core hours between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM
Passion for contributing to healthcare innovations that improve patient outcomes
Preferred
Data engineering or data science background that transitioned into backend engineering
Previous experience at Fortune 500 companies or high-growth startups
Experience integrating with healthcare systems like EPIC
Knowledge of client-specific workflows and healthcare IT standards
Familiarity with AI agent workflows, voice call center systems, and post-call processes
Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Demonstrated success in fast-paced, innovative environments with a focus on backend solutions
