Level 1 PRS Case Manager

The Level 1 PRS Case Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children by conducting assessments, coordinating services, and advocating for families.

Responsibilities
Conduct initial and routine phone and video calls with sponsors and children to assess safety, identify needs, and coordinate services
Continuously assess the safety and appropriateness of placements by applying child welfare principles and social work best practices
Apply a trauma informed approach to support families in building trust through safety, connection, and self-regulation
Assist sponsors and children with school enrollment and access to community resources through telephonic and/or video calls, as needed
Conduct outreach with local community agencies to identify appropriate resources for clients, ensuring they are culturally and linguistically appropriate
Provide information, education, referrals, outreach, advocacy, and build a network of support for sponsors and children; track individual progress to ensure that each child receives necessary services
Discuss cases with supervisors in a timely manner to report any concerns with the placement or safety of children and request a change in service level if a child is determined to need elevated care or services
Submit case notes, assessments, and reports in a timely manner as required by ORR and Applied Intellect, using ORR’s documentation software and Applied Intellect’s internal software system used for case monitoring, maintenance, and storage
Maintain a high standard of record-keeping according to Applied Intellect and Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) policies and procedures
Participate in regular training and communication sessions utilizing Teams, Zoom or other platforms required for virtual meetings with peers, supervisors, and headquarters staff
Display professional conduct and ensure respectful interactions during any contact with children, sponsors, coworkers, supervisors, ORR representatives, and other vendors or community members
Maintain confidentiality of all health care records, youth information, and program areas to remain compliant with HIPAA and Protected Health Information (PHI) requirements
Coordinate and maintain communication with key stakeholders
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in social work, International Studies, or a related humanitarian field is required with one year of experience
Must possess an extensive knowledge of immigrant community local resources
Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and ability to prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office required to complete daily tasks and maintain contact with supervisors and coworkers (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams)
Comfortably using a tablet/iPad, or laptop to complete daily assignments, and the ability to type and be computer literate
Fluency in Spanish is required, proficiency in additional languages a plus
Must demonstrate a commitment to comply with mandatory state reporting requirements for child abuse and neglect
Must possess a valid driver's license, insurance, a clean driving record and reliable transportation (if required)
Successful completion of ORR/ACF's Suitability Determination, a federal background check initiated upon employment (if required)
The position is remote and requires an appropriate workspace to complete daily tasks and participate in video conferencing
Must possess or be able to obtain CPR and basic first aid certification

Preferred
Experience with immigrant populations, child welfare, child placements, family preservation and social service provision is desired
