Responsibilities
Development-Develop new CAD (SolidWorks) models and drawings, with an existing basis of design
Data Organization-Research and understand historic and current machinery, keeping continuity in basis of design
Teamwork-Work with teammates to apply logic to new models for creation of job-specific model and drawing sets
Creativity-Understand different modeling and logic techniques, choosing and applying the best technique to the situation
Qualification
Required
Min. 2 years in a machine design environment, or similar. 5 years+ ideal
4-year/Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Thorough understanding of SolidWorks techniques is essential
Extensive use of Sheet Metal and Weldments
Ability to research and understand historic and current machinery
Ability to work with teammates to apply logic to new models
Ability to understand different modeling and logic techniques
Ability to adapt and learn new methods and best applications
Constant motivation to improve processes and reduce mistakes
Attention to detail regarding model dimensions and coding naming conventions
Ability to understand how a piece of machinery works and how individual components fit
Ability to take clear notes on what has been done
Clear communication skills within the development team and with other teams
Preferred
PDM experience
DriveWorks (SolidWorks Plug-in and Gold Partner) experience
Object-oriented coding experience (Matlab, Python, Java, others)
Experience with other software packages including Visual, Microsoft Excel
