Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop the IT Support and Service Desk teams, ensuring a high-performance culture rooted in ownership, responsiveness, and exceptional customer service
Oversee day-to-day IT operations across offices and laboratories, ensuring business continuity and rapid issue resolution for scientific and clinical users
Manage and enforce ITIL-aligned processes including Incident, Request, Problem, Knowledge, and Change Management
Partner with Information Security to ensure endpoint controls, identity governance, patch compliance, and threat protection meet biotech-specific security requirements
Assist in the support of laboratory operations, scientific computing environments, and instrument-connected workstations in collaboration with Lab Operations and R&D teams
Ensure IT support processes align with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, SOX, and data integrity requirements where applicable
Work with Quality Assurance on periodic reviews, CAPAs, audits, and validation documentation related to end-user systems and IT support processes
Support system readiness for regulatory inspections and internal/external audits
Lead the strategy and execution of enterprise endpoint management using modern management platforms (Intune, JAMF, UEM/MDM)
Own lifecycle management for all user devices including procurement, imaging/provisioning, configuration, maintenance, and secure disposal
Maintain secure standard operating environments (SOEs), OS hardening, automated software distribution, and global patching standards
Implement and maintain endpoint security technologies such as EDR, device encryption, vulnerability management tools, and compliance policies
Serve as an escalation point for complex Tier 3 technical issues, working closely with engineering and infrastructure teams
Lead the development and maintenance of knowledge base articles, SOPs, WI, user training programs, and self-service resources
Optimize onboarding and offboarding workflows, ensuring efficient provisioning of accounts, identity access, and hardware
Ensure all conference rooms, meeting spaces, and collaboration technology are fully operational, regularly maintained, and equipped with reliable AV, video conferencing, and connectivity solutions
Drive improvements in digital employee experience, leveraging analytics to reduce ticket volume and increase productivity
Oversee outsourced IT support providers, ensuring clear SLA governance, operational transparency, and continuous improvement
Manage hardware suppliers, lifecycle vendors, and professional services partners to sustain reliable end-user environments
Evaluate new technologies and services that improve support scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency
Establish and maintain KPI reporting for service performance, SLA trends, endpoint compliance, asset lifecycle, and user satisfaction
Align support operations with corporate compliance, cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS), and data privacy requirements
Identify areas for automation and process improvement, leading initiatives to streamline device provisioning, patching, and service workflows
Contribute to IT strategic planning, budgeting, and roadmap initiatives with a focus on scaling the organization

Required

5+ years leading IT Support/Service Desk operations, with at least 3+ years in a management role
Exposure to supporting lab environments, scientific instruments, and hybrid GxP/non-GxP systems
Basic understanding of compliance frameworks (GxP, Part 11, SOX), change control, validation, and audit readiness
Proven expertise with Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra ID, and modern endpoint management platforms (Intune, JAMF, UEM)
Demonstrated success managing MSPs and external vendors
Strong cybersecurity awareness, including EDR, MFA, Zero Trust principles, and vulnerability management
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to support users ranging from lab scientists to executive leadership
Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience developing KPI dashboards and service reports
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
Ability to work onsite regularly to support labs and corporate operations (hybrid model)
Experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives, prioritizing efficiently, and communicating clearly across departments
Strong documentation habits, including SOPs, training materials, and operational reports
Ability to navigate and succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced biotech environment with evolving requirements

Preferred

biotech or life sciences experience strongly preferred
