Start in 2026 SummerFarnsworth Group is a nationally recognized architectural, engineering, and surveying firm, and they are seeking an Environmental Intern for Summer 2026. In this role, the intern will provide environmental support for energy and utilities projects, conduct field assessments, and assist with environmental permitting and compliance.
Design
Responsibilities
Provide environmental support for various energy and utilities projects
Perform inspections on construction sites for erosion and sediment control
Provide field support to delineate and map wetlands, perform environmental compliance inspections, describe habitat, and report environmental conditions to design engineers
Research and assist with environmental permitting at the federal, state, and local levels
Assist with the composition of a variety of regulatory documents including Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), and Best Management Practice (BMP) Plans
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma
Completed Junior Year of Undergraduate Program in a related field
Great attitude, willingness to learn, and a team player
Ability to effectively manage time while working on several projects concurrently
Preferred
Pursuing Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or related field
Experience conducting environmental surveys using GPS
Experience with ArcGIS
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Strong oral and written communication skills
