Systems Administrator

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the operation of computer systems, maintaining core enterprise systems, ensuring data accuracy, and improving workflows to support organizational efficiency.

Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems, virtual machines, and related software
Manage and maintain VMware vCenter and Horizon View environments, including virtual machine deployment, configuration, and monitoring
Design, implement, and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and failover clustering
Manage and maintain MS SQL Server databases, including database design, performance tuning, and backup/recovery strategies
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Windows operating systems, virtualization technologies, and network connectivity
Work closely with other IT team members to ensure efficient operation of all IT systems and services
Develop and maintain technical documentation of IT systems and processes
Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in Windows system administration and virtualization technologies
Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and maintenance as needed
Follow proper change control procedures and adhere to industry compliance standards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Five years of experience in Windows System Administration
Two years of experience with VMware vCenter and Horizon View
At least 2 years of experience with VMware vCenter and Horizon View
At least 5 years of experience with Windows Server, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, failover clustering, and MS SQL Server
Strong understanding of Windows operating systems, virtualization technologies, and network protocols
Experience with scripting and automation tools, such as PowerShell
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to lift 40lbs
Must be able to travel to remote data centers or business locations that are located in Houston and the Dallas area
Will need to be available 24 hours in case of emergencies
Preferred
ITIL certification or other relevant industry certifications desired
