Digital Content and Web Specialist
The American Immigration Council works to strengthen America by shaping how America thinks about and acts towards immigrants and immigration. The Digital Content & Web Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the organization's website content, ensuring its accuracy, accessibility, and performance while collaborating on various digital initiatives.

Responsibilities
Execute day-to-day content updates, revisions, and fact-checking across various sections of the website (e.g., resource pages, landing pages, blog)
Update and replace PDF fact sheets, reports, and other downloadable resources
Write and implement descriptive alt text for all website images to ensure accessibility standards are met and support search engine optimization
Perform basic image editing, resizing, and optimization for web use
Collaborate on UI/UX improvements and accessibility audits (WCAG compliance)
Post and update organizational events, webinars, and announcements on the website's calendar/events section
Conduct regular content audits to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with organizational style guidelines
Assist with the maintenance, optimization, and reporting of Google Ads campaigns (e.g., ad copy creation, keyword list refinement, and performance tracking)
Serve as backup support during team member absences by managing urgent website updates, publishing scheduled content, ensuring continuity of digital operations, and other ad hoc Marketing and Communication needs
Qualification
Required
1-2 years of experience in digital content editing, website management, or a similar role
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Proficiency with basic photo editing software (e.g., Canva, Photoshop, or a similar tool)
Excellent written communication skills with the ability to maintain consistent tone and style
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Interest in Web Development: A keen interest in learning front-end web development skills (HTML, CSS, or basic CMS templating) is a plus
Experience with Google Ads: Experience managing or assisting with Pay-Per-Click (PPC) campaigns, particularly Google Ad Grant campaigns, is highly desirable
Familiarity with a Content Management System (CMS) like WordPress, Drupal, or similar
Experience in a non-profit, advocacy, or mission-driven environment
