Responsibilities

Perform Section 508 accessibility reviews, remediation, and validation of documents, presentations, and digital content
Conduct program analysis to assess documentation needs, workflow gaps, compliance risks, and process efficiencies
Develop accessibility checklists, standards guidance, and compliance artifacts aligned with federal requirements
Support program governance activities by analyzing requirements, tracking deliverables, and supporting audits or reviews
Write, revise, and edit technical documentation and project communications, incorporating visual elements when appropriate
Translate inputs from multiple sources into concise narratives for executive, technical, and non-technical audiences
Develop and maintain user manuals, guides, standard operating procedures, process documentation, and training materials for IT systems and projects
Create ad hoc deliverables such as slide decks, one-pagers, fact sheets, infographics, diagrams, and process flows
Manage document libraries and repositories; apply version control, traceability, and reusability practices throughout the delivery lifecycle
Identify communication gaps, update and maintain communication plans, and propose improvements based on feedback and stakeholder needs
Perform quality assurance reviews for content and formatting, ensuring accessibility and standards compliance across all deliverables

Required

Demonstrated expertise with Section 508 compliance standards, accessibility testing tools, and remediation techniques
Experience performing program or business analysis in support of IT initiatives, governance, or compliance efforts
Professional experience applying Section 508 compliance and accessibility best practices across federal programs
Experience combining technical writing with program or business analysis responsibilities
Expert written communication, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to convey complex technical concepts in plain language and tailor content to the intended audience
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Word advanced formatting and automation), and strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio; experience with SharePoint and PDF tools (e.g., Adobe Acrobat)
Experience producing documentation in an agile and/or SDLC-driven environment
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple documentation efforts and competing deadlines
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
Ability to pass a high risk background investigation and obtain and maintain the contract required Public Trust clearance

Preferred

Certified or trained in accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508, WCAG 2.x) or program/business analysis methodologies
Experience supporting accessibility audits, remediation initiatives, or enterprise accessibility programs
Experience supporting Veterans Affairs or other federal enterprise programs; familiarity with regulated or mission-critical environments
Experience with documentation platforms and structured authoring (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint, Markdown) and the use of templates and style guides
UX writing/content design familiarity; strong storytelling and information-design skills (layout, hierarchy, and audience engagement)
Knowledge of accessibility and plain-language standards, including producing accessible documents and visuals
Ability to create visual aids and graphic assets using tools such as PowerPoint and design platforms (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva, Lucidchart, Miro)
Understanding of content management and version control practices (including tools such as Git)
Experience with federal documentation and compliance standards; exposure to automation initiatives (e.g., RPA) is a plus
