The Launch Vehicle Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for maintenance engineering and refurbishment activities for the operational fleet of vehicles, ensuring comprehensive engineering ownership throughout their lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Serve as the technical owner for assigned vehicle subsystems, providing engineering expertise throughout the operations and maintenance lifecycle
Develop, maintain, and improve work instructions for maintenance and refurbishment activities
Establish and maintain quality processes typically associated with manufacturing engineering or maintenance engineering roles
Execute engineering scope for the fielded fleet of vehicles following certification, including initiation and execution of Change Requests (ECRs)
Manage work instructions and nonconformances, engineering buyoffs, and related maintenance activities
Provide engineering support for procurement and flight spares
Own Risks and Waivers applicable to fielded vehicles, including mission-specific and post-certification items
Serve in Engineering Change Board (ECB) roles for launch campaigns and support ECB deprecation efforts
Provide engineering input into all pre-Flight reviews (MSR/MRR/FRR), except for major block upgrades

Required

Bachelor's degree in aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related technical field
Experience Levels with aerospace systems engineering, maintenance engineering, or related field. (0-3 years Level I Engineer, 3+ Level II Engineer, 5+ Level III Engineer, 8+ SR Level Engineer)
Experience with configuration management and engineering documentation
Must be able to work second shift and have flexibility to move shifts as needed. Open to work extended hours if required

Preferred

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Experience with reusable launch vehicles or spacecraft
Knowledge of maintenance engineering principles and practices
Familiarity with aerospace quality standards and processes
