Responsibilities
Implement database tuning and performance optimization
Provide client with peace of mind as you implement policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the database
Use technology and tools to identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical database
Impact the management of meteorological data used to make accurate weather predictions determine warnings and advisories
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience administering relational databases, including PostgreSQL in production environments
Knowledge of PostgreSQL database architecture, backup and recovery strategies, and performance tuning
Ability to manage and support PostgreSQL databases hosted on AWS RDS, including monitoring, patching, and troubleshooting
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
Bachelor's degree
Preferred
Experience supporting databases in cloud environments, including AWS RDS or Aurora PostgreSQL, Dynamo, and NoSQL databases
Knowledge of high availability, replication, and disaster recovery strategies for PostgreSQL
Ability to automate routine DBA tasks using scripting languages such as Bash or Python
Public Trust
Master's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
AWS Certified Database – Specialty or PostgreSQL-related certifications
