Data Center Owners Representative
Atlas Connections is seeking an experienced Data Center Owner’s Representative to serve as a trusted advisor for large-scale, mission-critical data center developments. In this leadership role, you will represent the Owner’s interests throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
Serve as the Owner’s primary representative across design, construction, commissioning, and turnover phases
Lead stakeholder meetings, milestone reviews, and executive reporting
Align project execution with enterprise business objectives, operational standards, and risk management strategies
Act as the central coordination point between architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and operations teams
Support site selection, feasibility analysis, and early-stage due diligence
Review design documentation to ensure alignment with resiliency, scalability, and operational maintainability requirements
Validate constructability and compliance with applicable codes and industry standards
Provide strategic input on procurement approaches, contract structures, and bid evaluations
Monitor contractor performance across scope, budget, schedule, and QA/QC requirements
Review and approve submittals, RFIs, and change orders
Track schedule milestones, contingency usage, and cost exposures; provide executive-level reporting and recommendations
Promote and enforce strict adherence to safety and environmental standards
Evaluate equipment submittals, installation quality, and integration of complex MEP systems
Participate in factory witness testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and Level 1–5 commissioning activities
Oversee structured issue tracking and deficiency resolution processes
Support integrated systems testing to validate redundancy, failover capabilities, and sequence of operations
Review contractor pay applications and progress reports for financial accuracy
Provide detailed budget forecasting and change management oversight
Protect contractual rights, warranties, and performance guarantees
Ensure delivery of complete as-built documentation, O&M manuals, commissioning reports, and warranty materials
Facilitate training for operations personnel
Drive seamless transition from construction to live operations
Capture lessons learned to enhance future delivery standards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline
7–10+ years of progressive construction management experience
Minimum 5 years in mission-critical or data center environments
Direct oversight of projects valued at $100M+ with fast-track delivery schedules
Demonstrated success interfacing with Owners, A&E firms, contractors, and commissioning providers
Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and civil/structural systems
Familiarity with industry standards and codes including NEC, NFPA 70E, ASHRAE, ANSI/NETA ATS, SMACNA, IBC, ADA, and OSHA
Comprehensive understanding of commissioning processes and L1–L5 phases
Preferred
Professional certifications such as PE, PMP, CxA, or LEED AP strongly preferred
