Postdoctoral Research Associate – Aerosol Device Engineer
Virginia Commonwealth University College of Engineering is a premier research institution located in Central Virginia. They are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate - Aerosol Device Engineer to develop pharmaceutical aerosol devices with a focus on neonatal applications, while collaborating with a network of scientists and engineers.

Develop and expand upon a diversified technical skill set while making a positive contribution to the field of pharmaceutical aerosols
Developing pharmaceutical aerosol devices with a focus on neonatal applications
Work and collaborate with a vast network of scientists and engineers
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field
Experience in: medical device development; aerosol science; conducting aerosol experiments; 3D printing
Ability to mentor junior team members, and ensure the highest levels of laboratory safety
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
Ability to work under tight deadlines and short turnaround times
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a postdoc at VCU
Preferred
Experience with: dry powder device development; aerosol device performance testing; aerosol characterization; neonatal applications; preparing and maintaining design history file systems
