They are seeking a skilled Network Specialist to join their Maintenance Team, responsible for high-quality repair and provision activities across the copper and fibre network, while driving fault-rate reductions and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Carry out repair, provision and preventative maintenance activities across the copper and fibre network to maximise system availability and performance
Respond to customer issues as directed by the Resource Control Team, resolving faults or delivering workaround solutions within contracted timescales
Maintain high-quality standards across the KCOM estate, including plant, poles and street furniture
Use expertise to recommend improvements that support productivity targets and contribute to year‑on‑year fault reduction
Meet agreed productivity levels to support strong customer outcomes and fulfil service commitments
Drive continuous improvement by identifying and championing new ideas, better processes and improved ways of working
Adhere to Health & Safety requirements, ISO certifications, industry standards and all IBMS policies
Ensure high-quality reporting and ticket‑touch standards to support accurate incident understanding, trend analysis and problem resolution

Required

Experience working in large and complex network environments across both copper and fibre technologies
Proficient use of hand tools as well as copper and fibre testing equipment
Experience with large plant equipment is highly desirable
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, stakeholders and customers
Excellent troubleshooting abilities, with strong diagnostic skills and the ability to resolve customer and network issues independently or as part of a team
Experience in process creation, continuous improvement or lean activity is strongly beneficial
EUSR certification
NRSWA 01 and LA (Signs, Lighting & Guarding, Digging & Reinstatement)
Full UK Driving Licence
Full DBS check
Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred

Telecoms industry experience within copper and fibre networks (Installation, Faulting, Jointing, Cabinet work)
Ability to interpret service prints and network schematics
NRSWA Operative (LA) – Digging and Reinstatement
Experience using ServiceNow FSM
Overhead delivery experience (IPAF preferred)
