Responsibilities

Exercises delegated supervisory authorities and responsibilities and translates the agenda of the OEL into discrete actions to be carried out by the staff assigned to the EDU
Provides direction and implementation of eDiscovery program operation and coordination with specialists performing essential litigation support (LS) tasks associated with day-to-day operations
Oversees and/or manages operation of the USAO-DC's LS systems, which includes overseeing a wide range of the IT support technology required to meet USAO-DC's information needs utilizing network hardware and software capabilities, including specialty LS software
Acts as an eDiscovery subject matter expert for office. This includes promoting, training, and educating the office on eDiscovery tools including Everlaw, Relativity and Beyond Compare; and providing oversight to the EDU to ensure that the team of specialists are following best practices, standard operating procedures, and ensuring practice/deliverable defensibility

Required

You must be a U.S. Citizen or National
Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation
You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable
If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period
If selected, you will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a one year supervisory or managerial probationary period unless this requirement has been met previously
Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement
You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position
In order to be considered 'qualified' for this position, your specialized experience must be described in your resume. To be qualified at the GS-13 level, you must demonstrate possession of each of the following basic competencies AND at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in Federal Service as defined below:
Basic Requirement: Information Technology (IT)-related experience, obtained through paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, demonstrating each of the following competences: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, Problem Solving
To be found qualified at the GS-13 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and typically consists of experience in or related to the position to be filled
