Human Resources Intern

MEAG Power is seeking a Human Resources Intern to provide on-the-job training and experience in various HR functions. The intern will support the HR department by assisting with employee lifecycle processes, including recruitment, onboarding, and HR projects.

Responsibilities

Actively support HR team by contributing to work focused on talent management, process optimization, learning and development, and technology implementations
Posting job openings, pre-screening resumes, initiating background checks, and scheduling interviews
Assisting with new hire paperwork, orientation, and exit processes
Supporting HR team with research, reporting, and policy improvements
Documenting workflows and developing SOP’s
Review training opportunities, schedule and manage employee development events
Provide HR support and guidance to employees, employment candidates and retirees
Participate in new technology implementation activities
Additional work assignments may include support with projects such as handbooks, policy development, and other foundational HR compliance items to enhance productivity and reduce liability

Required

Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing the following degrees/majors: Bachelors or Master's degree in Human Resources/ Organizational Development, Psychology or related degree from an accredited college or university
Must have current/most recent GPA of 3.00 or above
Must reside within a commutable distance of the office for this position and be responsible for your own transportation, such as personal vehicle or public transportation, to get to and from office
Critical thinking and quantitative skills, strong technical aptitude, demonstrated quality service mindset and ability to navigate MS Office applications (including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook) with a high level of attention to detail
