Deskside Support Technician
ITR Group is seeking a Deskside Support Technician for a long-term contract to provide onsite technical support in the Twin Cities metro area. The role involves working closely with clients to address technical issues, perform device deployments, and ensure reliable system operation while collaborating with a national tech team.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary onsite IT contact, addressing client needs and adjusting priorities as required
Perform new device deployments, user provisioning, and day-to-day deskside support
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and peripheral issues
Act as an escalation point for Level I technicians
Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, applications, and hardware
Research, test, and apply software patches, fixes, and updates
Monitor system performance and ensure reliable operation
Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users
Train users and team members on systems, software, and interfaces
Document work and communicate project updates with clients and internal teams
Attend client visits, maintenance reviews, and team meetings as required
Qualification
Required
US Citizen or GC holder
1–3 years of experience in Information Technology
Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
Excellent time management and ability to handle changing priorities
Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (VLANs, TCP/IP, routing, Wi-Fi, switching)
Experience with Microsoft 365 (Office, Intune, Entra ID) and Active Directory
Experience with patch management, RMM tools, and ticketing systems (e.g., Autotask, ConnectWise)
Intermediate experience with Windows, macOS, workstations, printers, and peripherals
Ability to support 24/7 operations as needed
Reliable transportation to and from client sites
