Engineering Technician III

Responsibilities

Provide electronics technical support to multiple existing product lines and products under development
Work with engineering to develop and perform testing on Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs), electronics assemblies, and system-level testing to ensure products meet specifications
Perform regression testing on updated hardware and/or software to CCAs, electronics assemblies, or systems
Perform electronics and software troubleshooting at the component, CCA, assembly, or system level to identify and isolate failures or non-conformance
Perform soldering to complex, dense CCAs to replace components
Build cable assemblies to include soldering, pinout identification, and installation of pins in connectors
Modify Printed Circuit Cards to change electrical functionality by cutting traces, adding components, or soldering jumper wires
Provide in-field technical support for testing and training
Support engineering in the development, manufacturing, deployment, and sustainment of complex electronic assemblies and systems

Required

Associate's degree in a related field of study and at least 4 years of relevant experience
A higher level degree may substitute for experience
Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings, diagrams, schematics and manuals
Ability to work with standard laboratory test equipment, other measurement equipment, hand tools, and power tools
Ability to work with electronics laboratory test equipment including signal generators, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers
Previous experience and/or certification of soldering techniques
Ability to perform soldering on SMD components down to a 0402 size while performing work with a microscope
Ability to troubleshoot RF and Digital circuitry down to the component level
Ability to travel to provide field support to the users of our equipment

Preferred

Previous experience and/or certifications within the aerospace and defense industry
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with AutoCAD or other 3-D CAD software
Ability to understand, use, and provide training on electronics assemblies and operation
Experience with electrical schematic capture software
Experience with IR and Hot Air soldering reflow techniques for SMD components
IPC-J-STD-001 Soldering Certification
IPC-A-610 Soldering Certification
Knowledge of ESD handling
