Gateway Avionics Hardware Systems Engineer

Responsibilities
Review and assess Gateway requirements and Verification & Validation (V&V) plan for Avionics System impacts, including integrated testing, analysis, and decomposition
Lead development of Gateway Avionic System documentation: System Architecture, Con-Ops, Interfaces, and others as required
Perform/Oversee integrated analysis and testing of the Gateway Avionics subsystems, hardware, and software in relation to other Gateway subsystems, operational environment, and required operational capabilities
Communicate Gateway Avionics subsystem architectures and assess impacts of changes to Gateway requirements, V&V, integrated testing, designs, and program decisions
Identify, communicate, track, and mitigate GW Avionics System risks
Lead and oversee trade studies to inform decision-making on vehicle improvements, or risk mitigation
Maintain productive working relationships with cross-program technical teams, including engineering, safety, flight operations, crew office, and module providers
Present to appropriate boards, panels, or technical/status meetings as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
6 years of experience with avionics hardware systems, including design and testing tools
Experience in avionics hardware testing, integration, and environmental testing protocols
Working knowledge of NASA standard practices and requirements
Experience with NASA flight operations and procedures
Willing to travel domestically as needed
10 total years of experience with avionics hardware systems, including design and testing tools (for Sr. Project Engineer - Systems Engineering)
Expertise in building on NASA Human Spaceflight topics and safety matters (for Sr. Project Engineer - Systems Engineering)
Knowledge of complex Avionic Systems Integration and Test & Verification (T&V) (for Sr. Project Engineer - Systems Engineering)
Preferred
Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Aerospace Engineering or closely related field
Experience with spacecraft C&DH and/or network systems in both a testing and operational scenario
