Mechanical Engineer (cooling system design & validation)
Harvey Nash is seeking a Cooling Quality/Test Engineer 3 to focus on the validation of cooling systems. This role involves collaborating with Cooling Engineers and Machine Validation Engineers to develop test plans, execute tests, and analyze results while supporting experienced team members.
Responsibilities
Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data
Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities
May write training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities
May specialize in areas of quality control engineering, such as design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, product reliability, inventory control, metrology, automated testing, software, research and development, and administrative application
Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability
Plans, sets up, executes tests and analyzes and reports results and recommendations
Qualification
Required
A BS degree in an Engineering curriculum that included Thermodynamics (Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.)
5-7 years' experience required
Good understanding of Thermodynamic systems
Knowledge with instrumentation like thermocouples, pressure transducers, flow meters, etc. and how to apply them
High initiative, good communication, strong teamwork
Ability to perform physical work (climb machines, turn wrenches, etc.)
Position requires significant remote communication of highly technical information so clear and concise communication skills are a must
Position requires significant collaboration so strong interpersonal and teamwork skills are required
The position is highly engaged in troubleshooting cooling systems, instrumentation, and test schedules so strong troubleshooting skills and personal flexibility are critical
Preferred
Experience with troubleshooting and fixing mechanical systems
A BS degree in an Engineering curriculum that included Thermodynamics (Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.) with 2 years experience running physical testing of Thermodynamic systems is preferred
A 2 Year Technical Degree in a similar focus area (Aerospace, Mechanical, etc.) with at least 4 years of demonstrated capability to set up and perform hands on tests, do post test analysis, and provide written and verbal documentation is acceptable
Must have a good understanding of Thermodynamic systems through coursework in school and/or practical work experience
Must have knowledge of instrumentation such as thermocouples, pressure transducers, and flow meters and how to apply them
