Responsibilities

Selects proper protocol to obtain optimal post processed models
Evaluates models and sends to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS)
Maintains departmental 3D reformatting protocol documentation
Educates CT and MRI technologists who participate in 3D reformatting about the protocols and changes
Develops training programs
Creates, implements, supervises, and acts upon a QA/QC program specific to post processing
Ensures equipment failures are reported and documented
Performs multi-plane reconstruction and sends to PACS
Performs computerized tomography procedures
Reviews electronic medical record for patient history and pertinent information
Reviews protocol prescribed by radiologist and discusses for clarification
Transfers patient to scan room and positions patient
Administers contrast material according to radiologist prescription by means of an existing IV line or by performing venipuncture and placing IV line
Recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reaction
Selects proper technique/protocol to obtain optimal data; performs scan
Evaluates images and sends to PACS
Documents contrast in electronic medical record
Performs daily calibration check on equipment; cleans and performs minor maintenance procedures
Reports problems to Team Leader
Maintains equipment and supplies
Performs other duties as required or assigned

Required

Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology, with 1 year of experience required in CT and 3-D
Knowledge of current practices and billing compliance
Must be available to work on-call duties and/or work variable shifts
Demonstrates competency in the use of all applicable aspects of the electronic medical record, radiology information system, and PACS
Radiographer NH OR Radiation Therapist NH OR Medical Imaging/Rad Ther - NH
BLS within 30 days
Radiologic Technologist - Radiography (RT - R)
