The Store Operations Intern role is designed to help students develop knowledge of the Company while working on a project focused on Advanced Sales Modeling using Machine Learning tools.

Responsibilities
Move beyond "average store performance" benchmarks to create a dynamic model that drives accurate labor planning and performance targets
Leverage complex data sets from Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Real Estate, and Supply Chain to create a holistic view of performance
Assist in providing leadership with a factual, granular basis for setting store targets and evaluating performance, moving from "averages" to "machine learning"
Contribute to a model that ensures the right amount of staff is scheduled at the right times, reducing waste and improving service
Prepare and deliver a final presentation to OSJL executive leadership and ownership at the conclusion of the program, summarizing key projects, insights, and achievements
Participate in weekly educational programming and development workshops designed to enhance professional skills and industry knowledge
Attend in-person and virtual events to build relationships across the Company
Shadow associates to gain an understanding of department roles and assist with projects in furtherance of department objectives
Acquire an understanding of the business environment, conduct, compliance, and ethics of a retail organization
Qualification
Required
Enrollment in an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program is required, with strong academic credentials
This project requires a candidate with advanced analytical capabilities and a specific focus on data modeling and machine learning
Experience using Microsoft Suite and the ability to learn and use Google platforms. Familiarity with Domo Machine Learning tools is relevant to the project goal
Ability to maintain uninterrupted focus on an intensive 'build' phase, distinct from daily operational tasks
Ability to work a full-time schedule. Must have reliable transportation to attend program educational experiences at different Company locations
