Power BI Solutions Consultant & Technical Mentor
QBA Worldwide is seeking a senior Power BI expert to serve as a Power BI Solutions Consultant & Technical Mentor for a high-performing BI team within a large U.S. manufacturing enterprise. The role involves auditing existing Power BI models, mentoring BI professionals, and delivering hands-on training sessions using real enterprise datasets.

Responsibilities
Conduct a rapid audit of existing Power BI data models to identify architectural or performance issues
Provide advanced mentorship on Power BI, complex DAX, data modeling, and visualization best practices
Lead hands-on sessions using real production datasets (not sample data)
Deliver onsite discovery sessions in Green Bay, followed by targeted virtual deep-dive sessions
Enable the internal BI team to operate independently with enterprise-scale reporting solutions
Qualification
Required
Advanced Power BI expertise (DAX, performance optimization, enterprise data modelling)
Experience working in manufacturing, industrial, supply chain, or operations analytics
Proven ability to mentor senior technical professionals (Architects, Analysts, BI Leads)
Strong dimensional modelling and diagnostic skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
Willingness to travel onsite to Green Bay, WI
Ability to work with sensitive enterprise data under NDA
Power BI & Analytics Expertise
Advanced Power BI report development using enterprise-scale datasets
Expert-level DAX (complex measures, optimization, evaluation context, performance tuning)
Strong experience designing, reviewing, and improving Power BI data models
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks in Power BI reports and datasets
Deep understanding of dimensional modelling (star schemas, fact/dimension design)
Expertise in relationship cardinality, filter direction, and model optimization
Experience identifying architectural vs. process-driven BI issues
Prior experience supporting manufacturing or industrial BI environments
Demonstrated experience mentoring or training senior technical professionals (Data Architects, BI Leads, Senior Analysts)
Ability to deliver hands-on, consultative training using real enterprise datasets
Strong facilitation and stakeholder communication skills
Ability and willingness to travel onsite to Green Bay, WI for initial engagement
Comfortable working with sensitive enterprise data
Ability to execute NDAs and comply with data governance requirements
U.S. Person status required (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident) due to regulated data access
Preferred
Experience with SAP (ECC / S/4HANA / BW / CDS Views)
Background in defines manufacturing, heavy equipment, shipbuilding, or asset-intensive industries
Experience integrating SAP ECC or S/4HANA data into Power BI
Familiarity with SAP extractors
CDS Views
BW/4HANA modelling
Experience optimizing large semantic models and high-volume refresh pipelines
Knowledge of enterprise BI governance, dataset lifecycle management, and model versioning
Background in defines manufacturing, shipbuilding, heavy equipment, or complex asset-based operations
Experience working within regulated or compliance-driven environments
Experience designing BI teams for self-sufficiency and long-term scalability
Ability to establish modelling standards, governance practices, and reusable design patterns
Ability to clearly explain technical trade-offs to senior leadership
Experience leading discovery workshops or architectural review sessions
